8 December 2008

It's the second week of common testss!!!!!
Had our first common test paper last friday 5th of december 2008
It's Analogue and Digital Electronics!
Quite confident of our papers as we did lots of practices before the paper
We even stayed up late to practice on thursday
Called most of our classmates to practice together
This is to let the strong students in our class to help us and other people
Well, it benefits all of us
All of us managed to do most of the questions in the test paper

Had our second common test paper today @ 200pm
It's Mathematics!
Math is all about practicing
No point memorising
Thus we practised all the tutorials that our lecturer has gave us
And of course~ The past semesters' common test paper
However it's always different when you are doing the test... the real test
The atmosphere's different~ and you have to do it all alone
Some questions are pretty tricky
I wonder how well or bad i did~
Hoping for a... C! At least.. Please~

Electronic Principles Circuit's common test paper is on THIS thursday 11 December 2008~
It is also our LAST common test paper for this term
And it is the hardest of all ! !
Still couldn't get it at all.. Not even the first chapter
Got to have lots of practicing and studying tomorrow
Since it's a no-school day tomorrow
I shall start studying right after i've woke up
Anything that is not sure of.. I will take my phone and call my smart classmates who are strong at it
To clear my doubts to understand what it is
I am sure that everyone will be more than willing to help us=DD
Good luck for last common test paper!
Keep on mugging^^

22 November 2008

Once again~
Improvements are made again!!
Finally "getting on" track
We've started to focus alot more during lab sessions and lectures.
One more idea is up for our Semestral project.
Got another new project too.. For personal development
The...Parachute i think
Or maybe something else
Stayed 15 minutes more for the ADEL's e-learning session onTuesday to learn more about K-map
Got to understand alot alot more during the 15 minutes
This is the first time that i'm working hard in a e-learning session
Did our practical too for ADEL's Lab lesson on Monday
First time ever.. We've completed the breadboard on our own

Had our communication skills IC2 on Thursday
First question is pretty easy
But question 2 is tough
I don't have any examples in mind for the paper
So i just have to fake it. And i'm bad at it
Scored an A, i think, for ICA1
Just hope that i won't do until very badly for ICA2
Was late for the EPC lecture on Friday morning
Couldn't wake up on time as usual
But i did managed to get some photos of the keypoints of the coming common test =D

That's the end on this week's improvements
Hope there's more next week
3 more days to EPC and ADEL's practical exams!!

Jonathan Tan and Alodie Tan in a group. Our goal is to reach a GPA higher than 3.
We plan to revise on certain modules on every fridays.
Not slacking anymore in class, and BE attentive.

Last week both of us are caught being not attentive during labs and lectures.
Revised nothing on friday.

My SMART Goals

In this particular blog post

I am going to set two SMART goals that i would like to achieve in the next 15 weeks..

S - Specific
M - Measurable
A - Achievable
R - Relevant
T - Time Referenced

Goal Number One:
- To get a GPA higher than 3 in this current semester.

The reason why i set this as my goal:

I have set this goal so as to let me concentrate more onto studies.
Without a goal, i would never stay on focus.
And without focusing, i only managed to get a GPA of 2.479 last semester.
So in order to get a higher GPA, I’ve decided to set this as one of my goals.
I don't need high GPAs like 4, but at least something higher than what i've got last semester.

Ways to acheive my goal:

In this current semester, i have around 7 modules.
But some of them only have a "Pass" or "Fail" grade whilst others have grades like A B C D and so on.
Since some modules are giving me higher grade points, then i shall stay more focus on them.
For those modules with only "Pass" or "Fail" grade, i shall try my very best and aim for a Pass for everything.
And for those modules with grades like A B C D, i will aim for at least a B+ for each and every module.
Since i still have around 15 more weeks and i have around 7 modules. I will make full use of the first 14 weeks.

Module 1 represents one of the modules and so on.
Every week i will focus on one main module.
For example, if module 1 is Personal Development.
Then on the second week, i will focus on another module like communication skills.
Then on the 8th week, i will focus on Personal Development again.
And for the last week, the 15th week, i will try to revise all my modules' most important points and work for the very best.

Goal Number Two:
-To earn $1000 in 15 weeks

The reason why i set this as my goal:

I am a student who wants to work hard while playing hard.
And in order to play hard, i got to have some capital on my hand.

I dislike people who ask money from their family frequently in order to enjoy themselves.
And i want to:

Buy my bags, clothes and accessories using my own money.
Go out for gatherings, clubbings and entertainment using my own money.
Thus, i need to earn at least $1000 so that i can enjoy and spend happily in the upcoming holidays.

Ways to acheive my goal:

I know this goal might be too easy for a lot of people.
But for a student who needs to spend long hours in school, like me, it is not an easy task.
Other than spending long hours in school, i still need to fork up some time to complete my first goal.
That is why i think that having too many goals at one time will cause a lot of troubles.
Since i canot work for long hours, i have to take up part time jobs that are able to fit into my schedules.
Part time jobs like home tutors will do.
I only have to take around 2 students, earning around $150++per month/student.

Without any accidents, i will be able to earn around $1125 which means i will be able to reach my goal if everything went smoothly.
Accidents that may occur:
-Unable to get 2 students who are able to pay me $150/per month for 3 consecutive months starting from October
-Unable to get the money on time
-Our ( Student and me ) available time slots do not match
Each student will only take up 3 hours/week. And this 3 hours can be splitted into 2 lessons, which means 1 and a half hour/lesson.

I will only need to spend 6 hours per week for my part time job, 4 different days at most.
And the rest of the time/days, other than school hours, i will able to plan some time for my first goal and my entertaining hours.

That's the end of my plan for my two SMART goals.
Just hope that everything goes well.
And i'm serious! =D

PS: I have no idea if i'm doing this assignment correctly..
